Köyry, also known as Kekri or Köyri, depending on where in Finland one is from, is an old harvest festival celebrated in the fall, welcoming the season of death and the new agricultural cycle. As my first inquiry into expanding sound work into the physical realm by building a loudspeaker, Köyry artwork plays with themes of Finnish ruralness and nostalgia, inviting the audience to stay and celebrate the changing of seasons.
