About
Ainis (they/them, b.1995) is a Finnish fine artist and social scientist living in London, UK. They are currently studying fine arts at the University of Arts of London.
Their past study in social sciences at the University of Bath specialised in the ethics and social issues of artificial intelligence and technology. Most notably, researching arbitrary censorship of marginalised bodies, LGBTQIA+ users, on social media platforms. They merge their social research into their art practice, constantly expanding its mediums.
They explore and research themes within identity and social issues, such as cultural history, trauma, childhood sexual violence, intersectional equality and mental health. Currently, their work investigates the history of the creation of the myth of a homogenous Finnish identity from a queer perspective.
